Milestones
1949
Wong Hing Long had our humble beginnings in a shop house along Syed Alwi Road with the production of customised metal spare parts for machine repair.
1972
Over time, we expanded to fabricate military parts and components for Singapore’s defence industry. We continued to strengthen our strategic partnership with ST Kinetics, the land systems arm of Singapore listed ST Engineering, and played a role in the success of many of its flagship products.
1978
We worked closely with Yoshida Seiki Pte Ltd, a Japanese engineering firm and produced components for various automation systems, used by many renowned electrical and electronic manufacturers.
1983
We acquired our first major facility at 34 Defu Lane 7, Defu Industrial Estate.
1988
In just 5 years, we set up our second facility at 5 Defu Lane 4, Defu Industrial Estate and developed fully into a credible engineering firm with various in-house specialist units in material cutting, bending, turret punching, fabricating, welding and machining.
1995
We achieved ISO 9002 accreditation for excellence in manufacturing practices on 12th April 1995.
2003
We were awarded with the ISO 9001 accreditation on 1 July 2003.
2004
Our steady growth allowed us to establish an overseas manufacturing base in Wuxi, China, with the establishment of Wong Hing Long (Wuxi) Integrated Engineering Co., Ltd on 6 April 2004.
2011
We acquired our first ABB robot with the right welding solution, to enhance our welding capability.
2012
We achieved bizSAFE level 3 accreditation for workplace safety and health capabilities on 15th October 2012.
2012
We acquired our first Flow waterjet cutting machine to enhance our sheet metal cutting capability and also to cut a wider range of materials of various shapes and thickness.
2014
We acquired our first Romer Absolute Arm 6-Axis to aid our quality assurance, for dimensional data capture of our manufacturing requirements.
2015
We acquired 3 units of ABB robots with Fronius welding machines, equipped with 4 metres RTT track and positioners, to enable us to weld large parts effectively and consistently.
2016
We acquired Trumpf 5040 laser cutting machine with LiftMaster Compact automation to run our laser cutting and production efficiently.
2022
We acquired our first Hwacheon 5-Axis CNC machining centers with automatic workpiece changer and CNC lathes with turn mill functions to boost our machining capabilities and to improve our productivity.
2024
We are deeply honored and grateful to receive Partner Of Labour Movement Awards at May Day 2024.
